ADELAIDE is a city thinking about and looking to the future and it’s the place to be for liveability.
According to an opinion piece by Infrastructure and Transport Minister Anthony Albanese in Adelaide Now, Adelaide is leading the way when it comes to the Australian Government’s Our Cities our Future – a national urban policy for a more productive, sustainable and liveable future framework.
It’s all part of Adelaide’s Integrated Design Strategy which is working to make it easier to get around the city and puts people at the forefront when planning and encourages people to get involved in their city’s plans.
It appears to be working with hundreds of people attending workshops and meetings to make inner Adelaide a better place to live, work and play.
This model has the potential to assist other cities to get their populations involved in their planning decisions too.
A way that many people have got involved and witnessed what has been achieved so far, is by attending the recent Collaborative City Exhibition.
The exhibition is the culmination of a year of work developing the Integrated Design Strategy for inner Adelaide.
The work in this exhibition was about improving people’s daily lives, improving processes and improving urban networks as a whole.
It’s not too late to get involved, with daily updates available from the IDCSA Facebook page and via twitter with #collabcity5000.
